CONTEMPORARY CHIROPRACTIC CARE AT AFFORDABLE
PRICES IN A TRADITIONAL, PATIENT CENTERED SETTING

Is chiropractic manipulation painful?

Chiropractic manipulative therapy is designed to give relief of pain and to provide for healing of an injured area. However, since a manual force is used to increase motion at a joint, sometimes soreness is noted. We try to gauge our force based on condition, patient size, and the patient's pain tolerance in order to make our technique gentle and pain free.

Why are multiple visits sometimes needed?

Often in pain conditions we must take the injured body area through several stages of healing (acute inflammation, passive congestion, and rehabilitation). We do this by giving treatment recommendations using the levels of care. Multiple visits are often needed to re-train an injured area into healing and staying well.

Can chiropractic help conditions other than back and extremity problems?

Many theories exist explaining the connection of the spine to the function of internal organs. The nervous system plays a major role in the regulation of our body systems. Research studies have demonstrated chiropractic's effects on blood pressure, visual disturbances, stomach problems, menstrual problems, colic, and the immune system.

Is it safe to go to a chiropractor if I have a disc problem?

Yes. In fact chiropractic has many effective techniques in this situation. We alter our location and force of treatment depending upon the specific type of disc injury.

Chiropractic has clinical research to support it. This includes controlled clinical trials as well as retrospective cost effectiveness studies.

Chiropractors are trained to provide high quality health care, and to distinguish using history and physical exam when and when not to perform manipulative therapy.

Chiropractic continues to be an effective, low risk health care choice.
